All CJCC On-site Events have been cancelled for this season by end of June 2020.

Free entry for players who have platimum or championship seasonal passes. $5 discount for players who have gold, silver, or bronze passes.
Registration deadline: 10:00pm on Thursday, June 4th. Onsite registration will NOT be available.
Schedule: 12:00pm – 5:30pm
12:00pm - 1:00 pm Check-in
1:15pm Tournament Begins
Tie-breaks (if necessary) and awards: immediately after the completion of the last round
Format:
The exact format of each section will depend on the number of participants but players should expect to play 5 games.
Players are placed in the following sections for tournament with reference to their latest posted CFC Active Rating with plus/minus 20 points floats. Final placement, including unrated/new players, is to the Head TD's discretion. Check your CFC rating on https://chess.ca/players
Level 1 - Beginner (0-399)
Level 2 - Novice (400-699)
Level 3 - Intermediate (700-999)
Level 4 - Open (over 1000)
Time control:
Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second delay.
Special rules:
No agreed draws are allowed before move 25.
Players are not allowed to talk to anyone (including parents, coaches, and other participants) except the TD during their games.
It is forbidden for players to have cell phones, or other electronic communication, computer, or media devices in the tournament room.
Prizes in each section
There will be a trophy for 1st and 2nd place and Top Girl in each section, and medals for 3rd place. Other participants will be awarded colourful chess pieces.
There will also be door prizes.
Travel grants will be awarded to top 2 players in each section and overall top girl towards travel expenses to the international events (NAYCC, PAYCC, NA Junior, WYCC/CCC) if qualified and participated.
Travel grant fund: Sum of entry fees.
To be eligible for travel grants, a player must participate a minimum of 3 CJCC monthly events (tournaments or chess schools) between September 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020.
